Show St. George B.P.W. Club Hosts To Dixie District Conference, Sat. St. George Business and Professional Profes-sional Women were hosts to the Dixie District conference last Saturday Sat-urday afternoon and evening. The afternoon meeting, held in the Gaiety Theatre, was opened by Miss Clara Woodhouse, Dixie District Dis-trict Chairman who was in charge of the conference. The afternoon meeting was for committee chairman. A short message mes-sage from Mrs. Almeda P. Brown, state federation president, was followed fol-lowed by reports from Mrs. Maude Neeley Leaver. Other state officers of-ficers in attendance were: Miss Alice Manning, state parliment-arian parliment-arian and guest speaker at the conference and Mrs. Anne R. Price, 1st vice-president, and a member of the local club. The banquet in the evening was held in the Arrowhead Hotel and was attended by over seventy-five seventy-five Business and Professional Women and their guests. Miss Woodhouse opened the program with group singing and the club collect, was read by Mrs. Anne Price. Mrs. Vivien Woodbury, local president, introduced the state officers. of-ficers. Musical numbers on the program were furnished by the Cedar City club and were vocal solos by Miss Lois Munford and Otto Fife and Cello numbers by Harold Johnson. Echos of the National Na-tional B.P.W. convention, held in Atlantic City in August, were given by Mrs. Brown. Miss Manning Man-ning spoke on the Federation's theme for this year, "Our Town's Business." |
