Gentlemen: Deplorable international relationships rela-tionships and economic conditions at home and abroad give increased increas-ed importance this year to the annual enrollment of membership in the American. Red Cross. Any organization that can give added impetus to the advocacy of the principles of kindness and mercy in a world where hatred and ani-(Continued ani-(Continued on page six) Red Cross (Continued from first page) mosity seem to dominate deserves the hearty support of all peace-loving peace-loving citizens. The ideals of the Red Cross and the commendable service rendered during the intervening years since its organization have demonstrated demonstrat-ed its pre-eminence in the field o f succor and rehabilitation among stricken humanity. We are pleased, therefore, to express the hope that the annual enrollment enroll-ment for 1940 will exceed that of any previous year. The cost of individual membership is $1 a year, or as much as a person wishes to give. Under the stress of these troubled times, and out of gratitude grati-tude for our own blessings, we feel that the people of Utah and of the surrounding states should willingly cooperate and participate partici-pate in the service of the Red Cross.
