Show BPW CLUB REPORT PROFITABLE TRIP TO STATE CONVENTION Wednesday evening, May 29, the Business and Professional Women of St. George met at the Hotel Liberty to hear a report of the State Convention held in Salt Lake City, May 25 and 26. The St. George club was well represented re-presented at the Convention with the following members attending: attend-ing: Mrs. Ann R. Price, Mrs. Kate B. Empey, Mrs. Famie Nelson, Nel-son, Mrs. Mae Pace and the Misses Mishie Seegmiller, Edith Harris, Mona Reber, Ada Burt, Mona Woodbury, Una Pickett, Katherine Clark, and Hortense Snow. Mrs. Price gave a general report re-port of the convention. She stated that the Salt Lake City club was awarded the prize for maintaining the highest per cent of efficiency during the year. Their average per cent was 88. The St. George club came fif with an average of 6 6 per cent. Mrs. Price also brought many favorable comments from the State officers on the growth of the St. George chapter. Even though the youngest club in the state, the local organization now ranks third in the state in membership. mem-bership. St. George was also congratulated con-gratulated on the fine performance perfor-mance given by the club trio, consisting of Misses Mona Reber, Una Pickett, Katherine Clark, with Mrs. Mae Pace at the piano. These girls sang two numbers at the banquet held Saturday evening at the Newhouse Hotel. Various other reports on the convention con-vention were given by Miss Seeg-miler. Seeg-miler. Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Empey, and Mrs. Pace. It was reported that on Sunday Sun-day morning, May 2 6, the St. George and Cedar City clubs were: honored at breakfast at the Art Barn. At this time Mrs. Price was presented with a gavel to be used at club meetings. Later La-ter in the day a lovely memorial service was held for Miss Leah Cottam of the St. George chapter and for a member of the Brig-ham Brig-ham City club. At the final session ses-sion of the convention, Miss Maude Neeley Leaver of the Salt Lake City club was elected president of the Utah Federation for the coming year. Miss Leaver Lea-ver succeeds Miss Lula Clegg in this office. The women of St. George who attended the convention are more than delighted with the inspirational inspira-tional talks and friendly associations associa-tions that the convention offered Tt is their hope that within the next few years, they may have the pleasure of entertaining the delegates at a State Convention m St. George.
