Show JOS. S. SNOW RECEIVES BOARD APPOINTMENT FROM GOVERNOR BLOOD Joseph S. Snow, well known, business and political leader in Washington county for the past, twenty-five years, received, notice last Saturday by a telephone tele-phone conversation with Governor Gover-nor Henry H. Blood, that he has been appointed by the Governor Gov-ernor to a position on the public service commission. This appointment ap-pointment came as a surprise to civic organizations and friends of Mr. Snow as considerable effort ef-fort had been put forth to have him placed on the state road commission, an appointment, that civic organizations of Southern Utah feel that they were entitled to. Friends of Mir.. Snow point out that this appointment was made by the Governor in honor of the ability and work done by him and not because of the efforts of civic groups as they are in no way satisfied with the representation re-presentation on the commission but were desireous of having a man placed in the road depart- j ment. The Assoctated Civic clubs in particular passed a re- solution, introduced by C. W. Love, Jr., director and vice-president, that they were in no way satisfied with the appointments (Continued on last page) JOS. S. Those I who know Mri Snow affirm that he undoubtedly was one of the .best informed, men in the state .on matters pertaining to roads since he has worked In the in-( terest of better roads throughout his political and civic life. It j was the desire to help in the development of this important problem that motivated him to cooperate with" the civic clubs. Although it :-was the road commission com-mission that Mr. Snow preferred, he is well qualified to fill the public service commission ap-1 pointment. In addition to years j of business and legislative ex-, perience he niajored in law and j business at the Brigham unlver-1 sity and soon after leaving school entered public life. He served as city recorder of St. George from -1896 to 1900, and served two terms as Washington Wash-ington county attorney from 1902.
