Show VIRGIN Virgin. Oct. 17. Mr. and Mrs. D. Roberts- and family have moved here from Long nL-ach. Cal. . Mr. Roberts is expecting an oil rig in and will start drilling for another oil company com-pany which has oil land here. Five oil wells are being drilled here now. The . refinery at Cedar City is completed and the oil truck will be here this week, then they will start trucking the oil to Cedar City. Bishop and Mrs. Sylvester Earl, Mr. and Mrs. James Cornelius, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Prothero and J. F. Gerber attended the Stake union meeting at St. George today. There has been several herds of cattle here the past week which have been shipped to Cedar City. The principal buyers were John Adams and Joseph Haslam. William Brinkerhoff has returned home after an absence of several months at the sheep herd. He has gone now to Alton to haul lumber. Niles Earl has returned home after an absence of two weeks on upper Kolob, where he has been making fence. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Abbott have moved here from Los Angeles, Cal. Mr. Abbott is an oil driller employed here. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hicamp have returned re-turned from Salt Lake City where they have been for sometime. Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Schow of Hurricane Hurri-cane are visiting at the home of Mrs. Sarah Spendlove. Gilbert Barton of Cedar City has been visiting here with Mr. and Mrs. Owen Barton. The open air dance which was giyen at the Virgin Inn, Oct. 16, was well attended. Bailey Adair of Salt Lake City has been here several days on business. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cornelius were visitors at Rockville Sunday. Clarence Lamoreaux of Cedar City was a visitor here Saturday. |
