Show ALARMING FIRE Fire destroyed a room used as a girls' bedroom at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Harris between 10 and 11 o'clock Sunday morning. The room is separate from the part used by the parents and contained two beds, spare bedding, all the girls' clothing, etc., all of which was destroyed. des-troyed. Neither the parents nor any member of the family can account for the fire. Men from the garages and service stations across the street were quickly quick-ly on the spot with fire extinquishers, etc., none of which were effective. About 20 minutes after the fire started start-ed the city fire hose was playing on the fire and speedily subdued it. The alarming feature was the fact that other lumber buildings were quite close and a disastrous conflagration con-flagration might have ensued had there been a strong wind. |
