Show ENTERPRISE ! Enterprise, Dec. 21. Since wV wrote last from here we have had sonic very fine winter weather and the farmers and stockmen are feeling, a lot more hopeful. We had a fine rain on Tuesday, starting about 5 in the morning, raining steady all day with about 60100 of an inch; at nine that night it started to snow and if it had all stayed on would have been quite deep, as it was there-was there-was seven inches; it started to blow and was drifted quite badly. We un-i derstand some drifts on the Cotton-; wood summit were four feet deep. ; It then turned very cold and. Thursday Thurs-day night the theromometer went! down to IS degrees below zero and Friday night down to 13 below, but today it is Moderating and looks like we will have some more storm. J. G. Kilburn, the dirtrict Boy Scout executive, came out from Cedar City on Monday night and held a I spirited meeting with the men and boys. On Tuesday the outdoor demonstrations dem-onstrations had to be done away with and the work done inside A troop committee was appointed and work commenced on the forming of a Boy-Scout Boy-Scout troop here. Mr. Kilburn expected ex-pected to go from here to Central, Vevo and Gunlock but on account of deep snow had to go back to Cedar City. The B. A. C. faculty of Cedar City put on "Grumpy" here to a small but very appreciative audience Friday night. Cold weather and sickness was the cause of small crowd. Come again. A linen shower was given to Miss Winnie Terry at her home Friday afternoon by her lady friends. We understand that Chester Graff is the lucky man. Wedding report later. Some of our students are home from the various schools and the rest expect to be home Wednesday for the holidays for which plans are being formed for a good time. Jacob T. and William J. Truman went north to Tooele last week to seek work, but returned last night. They report lots of men hunting work now. The district schools are planning their Christmas program for Tuesday afternoon. |
