Show STOCKMEN OF SOUTH UTAH, ARIZONA STRIP FORM ORGANIZATION A meeting of the Livestock-men Livestock-men of the Arizona Strip and Washington, Iron and Kane counties coun-ties was held last Saturday evening even-ing in the courthouse, with over 100 present. The object of the meeting was to form stockmens organizations in conformity with the regulations of the Department Depart-ment of the Interior. According to the instructions received from this department, it is necessary for livestockmen to form these organizations and for t he organizations to file claims on the land that each will embrace. Morris, vice-president, and Wayne C. Gardner, secretary. These organizations have been instructed by the Department of the Interior that they are not to form any rules or regulations but are simply to get together and decide on a district that they wish to apply for. Within ninety days after such an organization organ-ization is formed and application applica-tion blanks have been filled out, representatives from the Department Depart-ment of the Interior will meet with the men of said organization organi-zation and give them an opportunity oppor-tunity to present their problems. The districts will then be allotted. allott-ed. There are approximately 80,-000,000 80,-000,000 acres in eleven western states that will come under this departments supervision. The Arizona Strip group have filed application for approximately 3,-000,000 3,-000,000 acres. They estimate' that their organization represents repre-sents about 130,000 sheep, 18,-' 000 cattle and 21,000 .goats. j In making these applications, one filing must go to Salt Lake ' and the other to Washington, ' D. C. J County forms organization j At this same meeting the grazers of Washington County formed an organization and elected elect-ed Francis J. Bowler, of Gun-lock Gun-lock as chairman; Jos. Terry, of j Enterprise, Erastus S. Gardner, of Pine Valley, Wayne C. Gardner, Gard-ner, of St .George, and Antone Prince, of St. George as committeemen. commit-teemen. This organization desires de-sires to cooperate with the organization or-ganization formed at Cedar City, at which there weren't any Washington Wash-ington County representatives. Men who have studied this problem from all angles feel that it is up to every livestockman to affiliate with the organization of their district, since the Department De-partment of the Interior ' has stated that it is through such organizations that they will work1 and make the grazing allotments. J The district that the Arizona Strip group expect to take in is J from the Colorado river west to the Nevada line, south to the Grand Canyon, North lien will be the Utah line, and east to ' take in a small portion of Co- cininino county near the Kaibab National forest.
