Show NEPHI KIWANIS CLUB TO ENTERTAIN CIVICS CLUBS AUGUST 18, 19 i The Kiwanhs club of Nephi has made aU arrangements for the entertairjfng of the Associated Civics clubs at their next month- ' ly meeting which is to be held ' in Nephi. The first business session of the Civic clubs will , be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Satur-day, August IS and the final session ses-sion on Sunday, August 19. Fourteen counties ar expected to be present, with several prominent prom-inent I'tahns invited. Tie main matters of business to come before be-fore the meeting will be a report re-port relating to a plan for securing se-curing rvernment support to conduct experiments to prove the value of immense a'ur.iie deposits in Piute county. These deposits, according to J. R. Thoeman, engineer of the bureau bur-eau of mines, are of a value in excess of a half billion dollars. . If this natural resource could , be developed, it would prove of great value to this section and , would furnish employment for a vast number of men. A fine program has been outlined out-lined for the ladies by a special . committee of the Kiwanis club. i The banquet in the evening will be followed by a dance. Through the cooperation of the officers and men of the CCC Icamp and Forest Rangers Department Depart-ment for transportation has been arranged to take all visitors over the beautiful and unique Mt. Nebo Scenic Loop. There are many unusual features about this historic mountain; Wild life is found In abundance; the parent par-ent herd of Elk U located here, the work of mother nature may be seen at close range, and the deligates will be the first to pafs over, what in future years, will be one of the scenic attracticns of America. |
