Show LA VERKIN La Verkin, June 1. Although our ward building is not yet complete, an excellent program was given there last night by the Mutual associations. It consisted of readings, songs; and a fine one-act play called "Freezing a Mother-in-Law." It was real good and Winfred Gubler, Ashworth Thompson, Horatio Gubler, Mrs. Hazel Woodbury and Mrs. Thora Gubler, who took the parts under the able direction of Mrs. John A. Judd, all did very well. It was the first gathering in the new building. David Stout, who has been on a mission in Georgia for the past 26 months, returned home last Saturday Satur-day and took up the time in Sunday sacrament meeting reporting Tiis mission. mis-sion. We all welcome him back and are proud of the .report from President Presi-dent Callis of that mission, which stated he was an excellent and honorable honor-able missionary. Mr. and Mrs. Lafell Iverson of Washington spent part of last Friday and Saturday visiting at the home of Loren D. Squire. Rodney S. Webb takes over the management of the La Verkin Hot Springs today. The cherry crop which is light but of excellent quality, is moving to the markets from here. Miss Irene Haslam of Cedar City was a visitor here Sunday. Early ripe peaches were picked pick-ed here last week. |
