Show C. E. BOWLER, LOCAL BUSINESSMAN, PASSED AWAY SATURDAY The community of St. George and surrounding towns were shocked and grieved last Saturday Sat-urday night at 9:30 when Charles Ernest Bowler, manager of the Bowler Service station passed away suddenly. The pneumonia with which he was stricken the previous Sunday was broken up and he ha da good chance for and he had a good chance for recovery had his heart not collop- Charles was born in Nacozoria, Sonora County, Mexico, a Son of Charles Christian and Emma Fenn Bowler. He moved with his parents when very small to Gridley, California where he remained re-mained for some time. His schooling was obtained at Las Vegas and Bunkerville, Nevada and he was employed for years at the White Front Service station sta-tion in Las Vegas. He was married mar-ried June 21, 192S in the St. George Temple to Miss Mary Riding a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Riding of this city and has since resided here where he had many friends. Brother Bowler was a loving husband and devoted father, and right up until un-til the time of his death his thoughts were of his loved ones. He was fond "of outdoor life and always enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an Elder in the church and acted as a ward teacher in both ithe West and East Wards. He is survived by his widow and three children,' Jean 5, Lewis John 4, and Mttxine, 3, and his -father Charles Christian Bowler, his mother, Mrs. Emma F. Bowler of Talmadge, Califor-nio, Califor-nio, two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Matteucci and Fern Bowler of Las Vegas and the following half-brothers and . John, Alfred, Delia, Be' . i;ulh. !...!., and Norma. All business houses in town were closed during the services, and the building was filled with his many friends, including many from outside places. A mixed quartet sang, "Oh My Father." The opening prayer was offered offer-ed by Elder Joseph T. Bishop Vernon Worthen of the West Ward spoke of his acquaintance ac-quaintance with Brother Bowleg since he first met him eight years ago and of his work in the West Ward, of his faithfulness to his family and his dilligence in attending to his duties in the priesthood. He was a good neighbor and friend. President Orval Hafen spoke of his acquaintance with Charles how much he liked and admired him. He worked as his lawyer and praised his honesty, industry and high ideals. Told of the miracle of life and death and , advised the people to develop a . more Christian like attitude and to lend a helping , hand in time of distress of grief. t A vocal solo, "I Do Believe." . was rendered by Dilworth Snow. Elder John H. Cottam gave a few words of consolation to the family and Milo Kemp, close t neighbor and friend who was j with him a lot daring his illness, told of his acquaintance with him in the Elders Quorum of which Brother Kemp was President "Charles was of a spiritual makeup make-up and was interest od !n the gospel. Bishops' Counsellor Eric Snow told of the joy he had known in his association with the family, fam-ily, paid tribute to the life of the departed and praised his work ln the Primary organization. Prayed the blessings of the Lord upon those who were bereft. The closing prayer was offered by President George F. White, head and the grave in the citj cemetery was dedicated by Bishop Bis-hop Arthur K. Hafen of the Easl Ward..
