Show RETAIN CIVIC CLUBS' DIRECTORS The annual election of officers for the coming year will be held by the Southern Utah Civic Clubs at a meeting to be held here in St. George on December 29 and 30. After viewing the many fine things that this organization has accomplished ac-complished in the past year it would seem! to us that the people of the counties that they represent should insist on these same men retaining their positions. President Martines has expended much time and money to make the club a success and put over the many projects that have come before this organization. At the present they have become recognized as a force to be delt with and where the southern counties before could, as individuals, indivi-duals, ask until they were blue in the face before receiving any consideration, they now have representatives from the northern press, as well as their local papers, and they have officials from the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce and government officials at their meetings and taking an interest in the projects that are given the Clubs' support. Chauncy Sandberg and C. W. Love, Jr., are the Washington Wash-ington county directors. Mr. Love, also holds the position of Vice-president. While we are not so well acquainted with the activities of Mr. Sandberg, we do know that Mr. Love, Jr., has given freely of his time and money. There isn't any question that it requires both to take an active part in this organization. Meeting in the various counties, as often as they do, for a two-day session, requires that a man leave his business or position for two to three days and expend considerable mloney. That the men of this organization have been willing to do this is evidenced by the record that they have made during the past year. That is why we say that these men should be asked to again assume their positions in the club if it is at all possible for them; to do so. Let's give them1, a vote of thanks an appreciation for the part they have played during dur-ing the past year and ask them to carry on for us in the future. o |
