TUBERCULOSIS ASS'N1 STARTS 1935 DRIVE The Utah Tuberculosis as?oci-ation as?oci-ation again comes lo the people o L'tah at this time of the year with their annual appeal for ' aid in the combating of Tuber-i Tuber-i culosis. This year their plans call for the securing of funds ! fur a State Tuberculosis sanator-! sanator-! ium. In this worthy porject they have the backing of the State Planning Board's Health committee, and the approval of the medical group and official health agencies. It is hoped that this sanatorium sanator-ium can be built in addition to carrying forward the important work that they have always sponsored such as chest clinics, case work and health education. There can be no question of the important work this association associa-tion has accomplished In other years and those who know of the needs of the association feel that in building a sanitorium they will be equiping the state to put up a much stonger fight against this dread disease. In this work they have the backing of every important organization of the country. Prank N. Bel-grano, Bel-grano, National commander of the American Legion has the fol-inwine fol-inwine to sav: "I earnestly commend to Le-gionaires Le-gionaires and to all good citizens citi-zens the heroic fight that is being waged against tuberculosis. Public welfare requires that the good work accomplished in the past shall suffer no impairment this year. "The American Legion, as in the past, is glad to cooperate in the sate of Christmas Seals during dur-ing December to finance necessary neces-sary machinery for the control and prevention of tuberculosis, including clinics, sanatoria, open air schools, medical and nursing services1, and -research and educational edu-cational activities. "Tuberculosis is a public enemy en-emy and it must be stamped out." |
