Practically all the men have been issued their special winter wearing apparel, consisting of high-top boots, blazers, heavy underwear and sox, in addition to woolen shirts and trousers. Army authorities have provided comfortable heated barracks, drying dry-ing rooms and other excellent facilities for the cold weather. Brigadier General Pegram G Whitworth, district commander of the Fort Douglas district, accom panted by the district surgeon, Lieut. Colonel Thomas Burnett, M- C, were camp visitors last week on a tour of inspection. Lieutenant Weatherman, camp surgeon, returned Monday from a seven day leave, spent at his home in Hollywood. Lieutenant Weatherman is conducting several sev-eral classes in Red Cross first aid work, which will include every member of the camp. Those who satisfactorily complete the course will be awarded certificates certifi-cates as Red Cross instructors. This work was started as Camp Nebo but has been re-organized due to recent enrollments. Captain Harford, camp commander, com-mander, and Lieutenant Allen have made trips to Pine Valley Inspecting that site for a stub camp of fifty men. Buildings constructed for the camp stationed station-ed there during the summer of 1933 have been remodeled to accomodate this group. |
