Show ADULT EDUCATION CLASSES WILL STUDY TODAY'SPROBLEHS During this period of depression, depres-sion, reconstruction and social revolution re-volution vital problems are forcing forc-ing themselves upon the average citizen, who should control the destiny of himself and posterity if he "is to call his government a democracy. Men are thinking today about regulating their economies eco-nomies as never before. Passive acceptance of "things" as they are" is a thing of the past among those who intelligently think. Mr. Average Man is seeing see-ing that he must decide what he wants and the fight for it. Underneath all this controversy controver-sy lies a basic problem. Should the profit system be maintained or discarded? Many other questions ques-tions arise out of this. Is the accumulation of wealth from profit pro-fit the root of our economic ills? Can more conservative changes cure the sickness? Will we always al-ways have cyclical depressions, to which surface remedies are but a salve as long as we keep the profit system? Would unemployment unemploy-ment etc. insurancee, old-age pensions, pen-sions, anti-trust laws etc., completely com-pletely restore equal opportunity and more equitable economic se. curity? Everyone 'has some opinion one way or the other. However, far too much of it is the result of hear-say o r prejudice. Only through research and thinking will our beliefs become worthwhile. worth-while. Everyone who has an idea to present for or against the profit system or who cares to benefit by the study of others is invited to attend the open-forum debate in the Adult Education class on Current Economic problems, Monday, Mon-day, December 3, at 7:30 in the Woodward School building. A similarly interesting and vital vi-tal problem will be discussed through lecture, reports or open-forum open-forum discussion every Monday.
