Show LA VERKLN The Toquerville school presented present-ed an entertaining Christmas program pro-gram here last Wednesday night. The teachers Mr. Boyd Dennett, Miss Mary Naegle and Miss Beul-ah Beul-ah Kleinman were in charge of this entertainment. Mrs. Nellie Stout has been having carpenter work done on her home during the past week. James Judd has brought his family home from Provo, where the children have been attending school, to spend Christmas. La Verkin school furnished a lovely Christmas program here Thursday night. Mrs. Vida Duncan, Dun-can, music teacher, Mr. La Fell Iverson and Miss Genevieve Hea-ton Hea-ton were in charge. Mrs. Tell Gubler has returned home from St. George where she has been visiting with her mother, mo-ther, Mrs. Arthur Gregerson, following fol-lowing an appendicitis operation. The Stake Sunday School board and their partners met at the home of Mrs. Morris Wilson last Friday night for a business meeting and entertainment. Thirteen Thir-teen members and twelve guests were present. Lovely refreshments refresh-ments were served. The P. H. W. club met Friday, December 21, at thehome of Mrs. Mary Gubler. President Minnie Wilson presided. A reading was given by Hazel Woodbury. Jokes and handy hints were given by all. A party in honor of the husbands was discussed. Refreshments were served by Mrs. La Verna Graff, Mrs. Harris Gubler, and Mrs. Mary Gubler. Lonny Roberts of Salt Lake City accompanied by Paul and Pearl Webb of this city, went to Salt Lake City to spend Christ- mas with his mother, Mrs. Tel-ma Tel-ma Glade, formerly Miss Telma Webb of this city. A Christmas program was given giv-en in Sacrament meeting Sunday. The Primary children presented present-ed a Christmas program here Monday night. Old Santa Claus was there and gave all the boys and girls candy, nuts, and a pop corn ball. A children's dance was held afterwards. Some of the out-of-town visitors visi-tors here on Christmas were: Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Dalton and family of Hurricane; Mr. and Mrs. Allen Humphries and son of Hurricane; Mr. and Mrs. Al-vin Al-vin Hardy and family of Spring-dale; Spring-dale; Mr. and Mts. Henry Bring-hurst Bring-hurst and daughter of Toquerville; Toquer-ville; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Russell Rus-sell and family of Springdale; Mr. and Mrs. Emerald Stout and family of Hurricane; Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Slack and daughter, of Toquerville and others.- Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wilson and children of St. George are spending the Christmas holidays here visiting. Ellis Woodbury who is in the CCC camp at Logan this winter is visiting here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Woodbury. Mr. and Mrs. William Sanders is spending Christmas with the'ir daughter, Mrs. Loren D. Squire and family of St. George. Paul Wilson, Reed Wilson, Ruth Judd, Horatis Gubler, Miles Wallace and Donworth Gubler are home from school. The M. I. A. gave a dance here Christmas night. A large crowd attended and all had an enjoyable time. Mr. and Mrs. LaPell iTMSOn and two children spent Christmas Christ-mas day in Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde De Mille and children spent Christmas in jSt. George with Mrs. De Mille's sister, Mrs. Fern Jackson. |
