Show LEGION, AUXILIARY CONVENE SATURDAY Many fine speakers will feature fea-ture the District convention of the American Legion and Auxiliary Aux-iliary to be held in St. George on Saturday, December the 29th, according to District Commander, Henry Pickett and District President, Presi-dent, Eleanor (Smith, both of St. George, who will be in charge of the meetings. The Legion will hold meetings at 10:00 a.m. in the Wadsworth Theatre and the Auxiliary will convene in the Gaiety Theatre at the same time. There will be a conjoint luncheon at 12:30 p.m., in the Liberty Cafe, with E. W. Simmons, as master of ceremonies. ceremon-ies. I A conjoint public meeting in the afternoon at 5:00 p.m. in the tabernacle to which the public is invited. There will be a dance in the evening. Leaders who will be present are: Department President of the Auxiliary, Mrs. J. C. Reb-holz, Reb-holz, Department Secretary, Mrs. R. L. Warner of Salt Lake and Past Department President, Mrs. George Worthen of Provo. All unit Presidents will make reports and Department chairman, Mrs. Ethel Neilson of Milford will talk on Community Service and Unit Activities, and reports from the following will be heard: District Dis-trict Chairman, Mrs. Naomi Hughes of Milford, Child Welfare; Wel-fare; Mrs. E. A. Petty, Beaver, Junior Division; Mrs. Eva Cox, Cedar City, Membership; and Mrs. Wanda Snow of St. George, Americanism. Musical numbers .will be furnished by the local and visiting units. The local units with Bert Riding, Rid-ing, Commander of Legion and Jetta Snow, President of the Auxiliary, are lending every effort ef-fort to make the day a success. A Housing Committee has been appointed to take care of visitors, with headquarters at the Liberty Hotel. All mothers, wives, and sisters sis-ters of ex-service men are invited in-vited to attend the days activities. |
