Show W EDDING PARTY TO COAST INTERRUPTED BY DEATH A wedding party that set out for Long Beach, California, from Salt Lake ended in tragedy late yesterday afternoon when Mrs. Fielding K. Smith, 28, of Cleveland Cleve-land avenue, was fatally injured when the motor car she was driving overturned thirty-two miles west of St. George. In the car at the time of the accident were her husband and her nephew, Ralph S. Carter. Mr. Smith, widely known Salt Lake City commercial artist and son of the late President Joseph F. Smith, suffered shock and minor injuries. The nephew escaped es-caped injury. The accident occured while the party was enroute to attend the wedding of Mrs. Smith's sister, Miss Grace Hughes, December 20, at Long Beach. Mrs. Smith was driving, when the car suddenly swerved from the road and plunged into the side of a steep hill, turning completely over. Mrs. iSmith wa crushed. At the hospital in St. George where she was taken by a road supervisor for the Arizona Ari-zona strip, it was discovered hei back was broken. Deseret News |
