Show FATHERS AND SONS BANQUET ATTENDED BY 230 MEN AND BOYS That a fine spirit of fellowship prevailed and much good was accomplished, ac-complished, was the opinion of the 230 fathers and sons that attended the banquet sponsored in their honor by the Boy Scout committee officials of this Stake, on last Tuesday evening, December De-cember ISth, in the Science Rooms of the college. A delicious dinner was served by the domestic science department depart-ment and good fellowship was displayed throughout the fine program that was given in their honor. Songs were sung, under the leadership of B. Glen Smith, while the fathers and sons were waiting for the meal to be served. Dr. Reichmann officiated as toastmaster and introduced the speakers and entertainers of the evening which included: Harold Snow, who offered the invocation; invoca-tion; Earl Bleak, who rendered two clarinet solos; this was followed fol-lowed by a musical number from a group of the minstrel singers and an act by two of its members. mem-bers. This is part of a show to be given soon after the holidays holi-days at the Dixie College and is under the direction of Joseph McAllister. Short talks were then given by Lloyd Davis, President Pres-ident W. O. Bentley, Vernon Wor-then, Wor-then, Bishop Frei and President Smith. A short comedy skit demonstrating demon-strating how "hot dogs" were made, was given by two of the scouters. This was followed by motion pictures under the direction direc-tion of Mr. Spillsbury. That this should become an annual affair is the belief of all who attended. Those, backing the occasion expressed their satisfaction sat-isfaction with the splendid results obtained and state that it is their belief that each year it will become better and great good will come from this getting get-ting together of fathers and sons. Committees in charge and the General District Scout committee wash to express their thanks for the fine cooperation that was given them. |
