Show WASHINGTON Washington, July S. The Fourth of July passed of very pleasantly here. There was a parade at 9 a. m., each organization in the ward having a float The Gleaner girls took first prize and the Committee floatthesec-ond. floatthesec-ond. After the parade there was an excellent program in the amusement hall, a children's dance in the afternoon after-noon and a dance at night for adults. The fireworks in the evening were on the Black Ridge east of town so most everyone could see them from the main road. There was a number of visitors here from near by towns. All seemed to enjoy the day. Mr. and Mrs. David Terry spent a few days' here last week visiting relatives. rel-atives. They returned Friday to their home at Delta, taking Mrs. Terry's mother, Mrs. Dora Iverson, home with them to spend the summer. sum-mer. Mrs. Ada McMullin of Leeds spent the past week end here with her sister, Mrs. Ellen Westover. , Among those purchasing new cars recently were Bert Hall, Billy Gould and Lafell Iverson. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Iverson of Littlefield, Ariz., spent the 4th. here. Frank Averett and James Jolley left Tuesday for Pioche, Nev., Peter T. and John Neilson returned return-ed Tuesday from Cedar City. Mrs H. W. Prisbrey has gone to New Harmony to visit. |
