Show PIONEER OF DIXIE DIES AT SON'S HOME IX SALT LAKE Mrs. Addie Price Bracken, active in the development of southern Utah for nearly 60 years, died Tuesday at the home of her son, Lawrence Price. 122S Ninth East street. Mrs. Bracken was born in Salt Lake on the block now accupied by the Newhouse hotel, August 9, 1849, the daughter of John Z. and Sarah Alger, pioneers of 1S47. When 12 she moved with her parents par-ents to St. George, where she lived until about five years ago when she returned to Salt Lake. Last summer sum-mer Mrs. Bracken suffered a paralytic paraly-tic stroke. In St. George she engaged in the mercantile business for more than 20 years. Surviving in addition to her son, Lawrence, is a daughter, Mrs. William Wil-liam B. Sorenson of St. George, and the following brothers and sisters: John Z. and W. E. Alger, Mrs. S. A. Cowley, Mrs. Olivia Bryson, Mrs. Ella Church, Mrs. Joseph Price and Mrs. Mary E. Morris. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12 noon in the -Thirty-first ward chapel. Bishop J. Percy Goddard presiding. The body will be taken to Provo for interment. |
