Show SANTA CLARA Santa Clara, Sept. 29. The farewell fare-well party given in honor of our missionaries, mis-sionaries, Max Hafen and Ernest Stucki, was very successful. A large number of people attended, many coming from the near-by towns, especially St. George where both boys are well known as they have been attending at-tending school there in the past. Lunches and punch were sold to raise funds for the boys. They leave with the best wishes of the community. commun-ity. They both go to the Swiss and German Mission. The Misses Grace and Lottie Tobler Tob-ler and Joseph Stucki came down from Cedar City for the missionary dance last Wednesday, Grace and Joseph returned the same night. Lottie remained here to attend school at St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur K. Hafen, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Hafen and Mr. and Mrs. Karl E. Fordham, all of St. George spent Sunday afternoon here visiting. Max Hafen left Monday morning for Salt Lake where he will spend his time visiting until the 9th of October Oct-ober when he leaves for his mission. Henry Graf had the misfortune to fall from a load of wood spraining both his wrists. They are improving improv-ing slowly. Ernest Stucki left for Cedar City last Saturday where he will visit for a few days before leaving for his mission. mis-sion. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Graf of Little-field, Little-field, Ariz., spent the week end here visiting. A number of our town's people are taking in the Chautauqua at St. George. Ernest Gubler has returned to Pioche, Nev., after a short visit here. |
