Show WORKUNDERWAYON RECLAMATION PROJT A force of men consisting of Sam Fullerton, Bob Dean, Moroni Blake, Edwin Wade, James Turner, J. R. Cragun, Gus Fullerton, Mark Gubler, Vill Fullerton, Len Conger and Hale Pearce, left Tuesday for the "narrows" "nar-rows" of the Virgin river, (about 30 miles from here), where they with others will commence work on the irrigation ir-rigation dam which is intended to im- pound water to irrigate about 11,000 acres of land in the Virgin valley between be-tween Littlefield, Arizona, and Mes-quite, Mes-quite, Nevada. Sam Fullerton has been engaged as foreman of the men from here. Construction of the reclamation works, including dam, cailais, hydroelectric hydro-electric plants, etc., is being undertaken under-taken by the Foundation Bond & Mortgage Co. of Los Angeles, Cal., A. L. Harlow the president of which was here recently. The company believes this tract of land can be made into one of the best dairy and hog raising districts tributary tribu-tary to the Pacific coast, and proposes propos-es -furnishing the necessary dairy herds to the settler to be paid for out of their milk checks. The land is being sold on the basis of a small down payment with twenty twen-ty years to pay balance. Mr. Harlow says the Foundation Bond & Mortgage has recently bought thousands of acres of land under the project and intends pushing push-ing it through to early completion. |
