A lovely buffet dinner was given in honor of Larry Hatt, Thursday, following his gradua-tion by his parents and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. George Hatt, Elaine, JoAnn and Susie. Helping to celebrate the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Montoya and fa-mily of Kearns, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman , Jensen of Salt Lake, Joan and Barbara Hiyama, Mar-vin Cowdell and Ricardo Lopez. Upper Bingham School The Upper Bingham School faculty gave a very lovely "pro-motion tea" in honor of the sixth graders who will start school next fall in the Bingham Junior High at Copperton. Awards were presented to: Junior Patrol officers Jessie Sanchez, Paul Miya, Yvette Ja-terka, Rosalio Gonzales, Dennis 'Mrs. Ruth Hudson, Mrs. Mabel Brimhall and Mrs. Selma Bent-le- y spent the day and enjoyed luncheon in Salt Lake City Tues-day. Mrs. Brimhall and Mrs. Bentley stopped off in Copper-to- n to visit in the evening at the Hudson home. Galena lodge met last Thurs-day night with Mrs. Elva Jensen hostess. A business meeting was conducted toy Mrs. Dolores Wiechman, president, and mea-surements were taken for dress-es for the forthcoming state meeting. Cookies and coffee were served to eleven. Fire Auxiliary met Monday night as guests of Mrs. 'Jack Householder Sr. Bridge was played with prizes going to Mrs. Martin Prigmore, Mrs. Verl Pe-terson, Mrs. Mae Stillman and Mrs. Tommy Prigmore. Lovely refreshments were served to six-teen members. LOCALNOTES Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Sorenson of Aurora, Utah, were party guests of Mr. and Mrs. John usaeta and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Davis Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Bentley left last Saturday on a two week vacation to California and New Mexico. Their son Bobby is stay-ing with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Padgen while they are gone. House guests of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel (Kat) Susaeta and fam-ily of Coppcrton are Mrs. Sus-aeta- 's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Har-old Hutchison of Dragerton. Mr. and Mrs. Verio Kendrick and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ross M. Cushing enjoyed a pic-ni- c outing at Lagoon Sunday. 23, were Natalie Reed, Polly lp and Marilyn Dalley. Diane Reed was overnight guest of Melva Peterson Satur-day, May 19th. The intermediate Girl Scout troops of Lark spent Friday af-ternoon through Sunday morn-ing at the scout camp in Butter-fiel- d canyon. Those attending were Sally Gillam, Polly p, Marilyn Dalley, Judy Alexander of Midvale, Nancy Benevidez, Barbara Jo Rubright, Adalia Lopez, Barbara Peterson, Judy Hansen and their leaders, Mrs. Everett Randall and Mrs. jRiehard Rubright. Natalie play-ed "Neptune's Cave" by Long and Dixie played "Prelude in G Minor" by Rachmonioff. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Whiting and family, Norman, Vaughn, Dale and Jay, are leaving Satur-day, May 26, to make their new home in Ft. Worth, Tex. Mrs. Floyd Reed and family visited with Mr. and Mrs. Verl Reed and family and Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Burr, all of Sandy on Sunday, May 20. Saturday, May 19th the Lark MIA girls and leaders, Mrs. Floyd Reed and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Rasmussen, planted tomatoes on the stake farm. A fun time was had by all. The first and second year Bee-hive girls held a party Tuesday evening, May 22. They exchang-ed sack lunches and had a very enjoyable time. Mr. and Mrs. Adonais Gutirrez and family were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Chavez and family of Keams. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Hawkins recently received word that their son, Pvt. Eugene Hawkins who is stationed in Germany with the 11th Airborne Division, is a pa-tient in the hospital there for observation .and treatment of a stomach ailment. |
