Show TREE DISTRIBUTION TO BE CONTINUED The project of tree distribution which was started last year as a result of federal cooperation under the terms of the Clarke-McNary law, is to be continued this year, according to County Agent Walter F. Smith. The department of forestry of the Utah state agricultural college is the state agency which handles the production and distribution of the trees, under the supervision of this law. They ask that farmers desiring to receive trees at low prices send in their applications at the -earliest possible date, so that their orders can be filled without delay, and without the necessity of substitute for some of the trees requested. The purpose of this work is to make planting stock available for farm use, at prices which the farmer can readily afford to pay. Last year 18,000 trees were distributed dis-tributed to farmers in 16 counties. An average price of $2.42 per hundred hun-dred was charged for the trees and shipping charges were prepaid at the nursery. |
