Show CHINA ISSUES APPEAL FOR 1 J100.000 ASKED IN BEHALF OF INTERNATIONAL IN-TERNATIONAL UNIT FOR RELIEF RE-LIEF OF WOUNDED Northern Troops of Marshal Chang Tso-Lin Intend to Withdraw From Peking Hankow, China An appeal for funds for the relief of Chinese in the present pres-ent civil war has been sent to the international in-ternational Young Men's Christian association as-sociation at New York and the international inter-national missionary council at London, signed by two Protestant Episcopal bishops and several missionaries. The appeal asks for $100,000 (Mexican) (Mex-ican) in behalf of the international independence unit, which is cooperating cooperat-ing with official Chinese assocations for the relief of the wounded. The appeal ap-peal points out that S000 wounded already al-ready are in Hankow with large numbers num-bers arriving daily from the fighting areas. Existing agencies are stated to be overwhelmed with work, that mission mis-sion hospitals are enlarging their accommodations ac-commodations and staffs and that increased in-creased funds are needed urgently. The appeal was signed by. the Rt. Rev. Herbert L. Roots.
