Show Uinflah Ufes grab vracf: honors cr? 3-A svave mee'f in Oenden A number of Uintah Ute tracksters pocketed honors in the 3-A State Track Meet in Weber State College, Friday and Saturday. The Utes' Jeff Droll-inger Droll-inger placed third in the long jump with a leap of 21'4". John Ford of Pro-vo Pro-vo placed first in the long jump at 22'4'4" and Darin Mathis of Dixie nabbed second at 2f 6". Tim Norton, Tooele, placed fourth at 20'10'V. The Utes' girl medley relay team, Denise Smuin, Sheryl Neal, Mari Green and Michelle Green, pocketed fourth place at 4:37.19. Box Elder's Jill Reader, Sonja Munson, Tammy Enright and Becci Carr, placed first at 4:31.48 and Springville placed second se-cond at 4:34.81 and Provo nabbed third at 4:36.27. Uintah's Cherry Valora snared fifth place in the shot put at 33'1" and Timp-view's Timp-view's Kendall Tuckett placed first at 36'9'A". Springville's Linda Burt nabbed nabb-ed second at 36'" and Jan Giles, Ogden, snared third at 35'9". Lori Partridge, Par-tridge, Orem, placed fourth at 34'8 V and Annie Watson, Bear River, earned earn-ed sixth place at 32'11". The Utes' Mari Green captured seventh place in the 400 meter dash at 61.48 and her sister, Michelle, competed com-peted in the 400 meter trials. Melanie Child of Springville snared first at 59.13 and Becci Carr, Box Elder, placed plac-ed second at 60.69. Uintah's girls tied with Murray at six points for 17th place in the 3-A meet. Provo placed first at 73 points and Box Elder snared second at 60 counters. Mountain View and Ogden tied for third at 39 points. Uintah's boys placed 20th in the meet at six points and Mountain View edged Timpview, 79 to 77, for the boys' title. Payson placed third at 54 and Provo bagged fourth at 47 points. Provo's Ford placed first in the pole vault at 13'6" and Art Dalton, Carbon, Car-bon, placed second at 12'6". Bob Armstrong Arm-strong of Payson placed first in the discus at 164' 10" and Craig Pinegar of Timpview snared second at 150'2". Kurtiss Trane, Mountain View, placed plac-ed first in the 110 hurdles at 14.49 and Chris Cannon, Provo, placed second at 14.94. Cory White, Tooele, pocketed first in the 100 meter dash at 11.16 and Todd Paluso, Judge, snared second at 11.23. Cory Bringhurst, Murray, won the 1600 meter run at 4:25.47 and Anslem Chavez, Box Elder, placed second se-cond at 4:26.17. Mountain View won the 440 yard relay at 44.34 and Provo placed second at 44.62. Donna Don-na Chase, Ben Lomond, collected top honors in the 100 meter hurdles at 15.23 and Kendra Peters, Judge, placed second se-cond at 15.78. Lisa Burgoyne, Tooele, won the 3200 meter run at 11:41.04 and Julie LaFranca, Provo, nabbed second at 12:12.91. Jill Fulton, Mountain View, won the 100 meter dash title with a time of 12.55 and Julie Winterbottom, Jordan, placed second at 12.84. Chase won the 300 meter hurdles at 46.72 and Janene Horrocks, Provo, placed second 47.94. Lanise Porter, Provo, captured first place in the 800 meter run at 2:24.06 and Carolyn Summers, Sum-mers, Ogden, picked up second place at 2:26.03.
