Show 50 YEARS AGO June 2, 1932 The regular meeting of the county commissioners was held Tuesday at the courthouse. The session was very quiet with but few delegations appearing. The remainder of the week will be used by the commissioners in hearing any complaints regarding the necessary adjustments. ad-justments. Definite instructions were given to the commissioners by the state tax commission representative who was in Vernal May 17. One of the most elaborate ferris wneel and merry-go-round equipments to visit the valley was erected here Tuesday by the Forseythe Company of Fort Collins, Colo. The equipments represents an investment of $16,000. The company will be in Vernal during the remainder of the week. From here the equipment will be taken to Glen-wood Glen-wood Springs for strawberry days where they will commence their 21st season. Newel B. Cook, state fish and game commissioner, Wednesday declared a number of Utah streams and lakes closed clos-ed to fishing, some until July 1, and : others for the entire season. With new contributions coming in during the past two months, the Vernal Library fund, sponsored by the Business and Professional Women's Club, reached the high mark of $444.06 this week. The amount previously reported was $396.00. |
