Show Scout Spectacular one week away t The Scouting Spectacular will be held on May 8 at the Vernal Pavilion from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. The event will be fun filled and informative, with exhibits and competitions. The Cub and Boy Scouts will be showing camping and auto mechanic skills, rope making and lashing skills. The Varsity and Explorer Scouts will be showing information about high adventure activities and car inspection tips. Other events will be a greased pig chase to be held between 10 a.m. and noon. Three to four pigs will be greased and chased by various Scout groups. The Varsity Scouts will encourage each other in a Klindike Derby. Each unit will lash boards to a set of wheels, and then pull the cart around a course with two Varstiy Scouts aboard. The Boy Scouts will be involved in building bridges, towers and other pioneering structures using poles and rope lashing. Over 4,000 tickets have been sold for the Spectacular. Prizes are being given1 to Scouts that sell tickets. For selling'E' five tickets, a Scout receives a patch f0f i his uniform. For 10 tickets, a Scout car'-l choose from a flashlight, match holder-or holder-or fire starter. The prizes get better as more tickets are sold. Jason Price, a Scouter sponsored byV the K iwanis Club, has sold over 14CI! tickets and may sell 200 before the.st Spectacular.
