Show Assessed valuation of county skyrockets Uintah County's assessed valuation is expected to skyrocket in 1982 to near double w hat it was in 1981, according to preliminary reports. State assessed property including minerals, oil, utilities and industires has been valued at $172,336,499, according to the State Tax Commission. This compared to $96,392,157 last year. County Assessor Don M. Walker expects the locally assessed property to total about $100,000,0 00 this year making a grand total assessed valuation of the county over a whopping $272 million. Last year the county had an assessed valuation of $144,212,915. In 1980 the valuation was approximately $99 million and in 1979 the valuation was $90 million. Locally assessed property last year was valued at $44,381,461. A problem this year in figuring the assessed valuation of the county is the tardiness of the State Tax Commission in making its reappraisal of local property in the county, stated Assessor Walker. Under a new law property tax notices are supposed to be mailed out in July for the November 30 payment deadline. This year we can't determine the assessed valuation of the county until we get the results of the new reappraisal program, Walker stated. r' ' J re--' v- . Zi i - ' ,- f .
