Show Maeser- 1 Enid Hatch I Phone 789-3150 I Maeser Fourth has anniversary party Maeser Fourth Ward Relief Society anniversary party was held Friday, March 21 in the cultural hall of the Maeser Stake Center under the direction direc-tion of Beverly Merkley. The theme of the party was a Maeser Fourth Flight to Hawaii which was hi-jacked to Paris. Olive Presten was the general chairwoman, chair-woman, with Elaine Petterson in charge of foods, Ellen Johnson, decorations decora-tions and Deanna Johnson the program. Serving was handled by Margaret Mecham and the girls of the Merrie Miss and Behive classes. Guests were the stake presidency, Marita Batty, LaRae Perry and Shirley Roop. All the women of the ward and their partners number over one hundred. Phebe Jane Hall of Fruita, Colorado spent the weekend visiting with her father, Morgan Merkley, the June Merkleys and Bishop and Mrs. George D. Merkley. New residents of Maeser are Robert and Norma Powell and family, living in the Half-Mile Subdivision. Mr. Powell is the butcher at the IGA store. Casey and Marilyn (Call) Dahle and children, David, 14, Mary Lyn, 12 and Lourie, 9, Salt Lake City are the new owners of the Wilber Bingham place. Mr. Dahle works at Frontier Airlines and was transferred from Salt Lake City. Ci-ty. Marilyn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Alvan Call, former residents of Vernal. Mr. Call was a principal of the old Maeser Elementary School. The Calls have recently visited the Dahle family. Alton Vernon drove home last Thursday Thurs-day after having eye surgery the week before. Edna Vernon returned with her son, Glenn Vernon, on Sunday after her week's stay in the hospital. Camiel Johns, a teacher at the Naples Elementary School, will be living at the Berkley Hall home the rest of the school year. Mrs. Bill (Marilyn) Bessley and children, William and Susannah, of Draper came to visit her parents, Grant and Mildred Hacking, Monday, March 17. She will be spending two weeks here while her home is being remodeled. While here she was a judge of the gymnastics gym-nastics meet at the Vernal Junior High School. Jeanette Bridghauer of Bountiful visited over the weekend with the Grant Hacking family. Robert and Trudy Roelofsz and daughter, Dyna LaRayne, returned from a few days visit with her family at Gunnison, Colorado. They visited her parents, Wes and Louise MCDurmott in Montrose and with her brother and family, Gary and Plat McDurmott. Mr. and Mrs. George (Eula) Reall of Franklin Lake, New Jersey, Mr. and Mrs. Drue Hatch and children of Colorado Col-orado Springs, Co. and Clay Hatch of Salt Lake City came to Maeser to be with the Claude Hatch family during the funeral of their father, Lorin Hatch. Elder and Sister Leo E. Hacking have been transferred to Prosperity, South Carolina. Camiel Parry has returned home from Utah Trade Tech., Provo. She will be working in Vernal. |
