Show f I Jensen Gladys Peterson Phon894 Aliens hold family reunion A family reunion was held at the Joe Allen and Stan Allen's homes this past weekend. The families came to welcome their parents home from their mission and attend their mission report. Brother and sister Joseph Allen gave their mission report in the Jensen Ward on March 23. They have spent the last 18 months serving in the Anaheim, California mission. To welcome them home were the Stan Allen family of Jensen. In honor of their parents, their sons and families came for a short visit. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Allen, their two sons, one daughter and a friend, Rosa Santos of Mexico, came from Orem, Utah. They have a son Blake who is on a mission in Brazil. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Allen of Washington and son Curtis, Mr. and Mrs. Carvel Allen and their seven children of Oregon, and Wanda Allen's sister, Made Olsen of Salt Lake City came. The friends of Joe and Wanda put up a "welcome home" poster in their yard and decorated with streamers and balloons. They helped out the family by providing food when they had such a sudden gathering. There were 29 members of the Allen family that got together. Their families came on Saturday and some left Sunday evening and the rest left Monday morning. We in the Jensen area are very happy for the Allen's return home after serving ser-ving a very successful year and a half in the service of the LDS church. A great time was enjoyed Friday evening as the people came out to enjoy the roadshow, consessions, a movie for the children and an auction later for raising the budget for our ward. A generous thanks is extended to all those who went around contacting people for donations to those who donated, those who helped in the kitchen and all who came from near and far to buy merchandise. mer-chandise. Because of all these, our auction was a huge success. The ward Venturers went up to the stake center Saturday to have a basketball game with five other wards. The ones who went were Brent Morrill, Wilbert Woody, Troy Jones, David Snow, Doug Allen and Daniel Allen. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Ure and their four children from Loveland, Colorado came for a three day visit with the Mervin Dudley's. Mrs. Ure is a sister to Audrey. They returned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. George Turner and two children went to Meeker, Colorado to visit George's parents who live there. Mr. and Mrs. Drew Christiansen had a pleasant surprise Saturday from his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Chr-sitiansen, Chr-sitiansen, from Murray, Utah. While they were here th(7 also went to see .Am and Vera Caldwell Mrs. Christiansen (Joy) is Caldwell's daughter. Lynn Massey, Linda Stubbs, Bonnie Moon and the Bill Murrays went to Brighton to encourage their sons as they participated in the Tiger U-ague Wrestling program there. Attending the same activity were Duane and David Powell who went out on a bus. David Powell took second place. j The Trading Post has been leased this year by a new family from Provo, ' Utah. They are Pat and Dianne Young They have eight children and ure going to live in our community. Let's all make a special welcome to this new family as they make a venture into a new business and help them to get a good start here. Mont Warren is home from BYU this weekend for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. A. Warren traveled to Southern Utah for a few days of spring sightseeing. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard White Ainge last week were Wallace and Mary Joan Moon from Fruita, Colo., Ferron, Irene and Annett Moon from Kangely, Colo., Kdith Kenfroe, Rangely, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Crown from Rangely, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Bill Waters, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Carl D. Renfroc and family of Bountiful, Utah; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Saxton, Woodscross, Ut.; Mrs. Robert Kinney of Orange, Calif., and Mr. Gerald D. Renfroc of Orange, Calif. They all came to attend the viewing of Carl Dewey (Jack) Renfroc which was held at the Jensen chanel. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Voss from Casper, Wyoming and two of their friends came to visit Howard and Vera Ainge Sunday. Mrs. Fran Peterson received a call from their son, Kugcrie, letting them know that he'd returned safely from his trip to Kentucky. |
