In their training sessions, crew leaders are learning how to recruit, train, and supervise enumerators who will be hired in this area. Crew leaders appointed for the Uintah Basin are: Uintah County-Carolyn County-Carolyn Kaye Lee, Diane Rea and Ella Mae Soelberg; Duchesne County Janae Lynn Austin, Jeannie Brown, Dorthea Garcia, Marietta Reed and Gertrude Willie: Daggett County Ella Mae Soelberg. The enumerators supervised by these crew leaders will personally pick-up every census form that has been mailed out. No one should try and mail their census form back to the census office. The enumerators will collect them all in person. In Carbon, Duchesne, Emery, Grand, San Juan, Uintah, and Wasatch counties the crew leaders will be supervised by Jean Boyack, Field Operations Assistant for the Provo District Office. The district manager suggests that filling out the census questionnaire be made a family project, with everyone supplying the correct information about themselves. She adds a word of caution: "Don't pick up a pencil and start marking until you have read the yellow instruction guide carefully. And be sure to use a black lead pencil, so if you make a mistake, you can easily erase it." i |
