Show Federal cuts Dear Editor: It looks like President Carter is about to embark on another of his crusades to "make war on government spending." The intent is commendable, but about three years too late. This, I presume, is to bolster his sagging popularity. There is only one bad feature about these vast projects usually sponsored by the Federal Government, they usually start out with halfvast planning, plann-ing, and come out w ith the opposite accomplishments. ac-complishments. If they were to send an expeditionary force into a forest with the prime purpose of eliminating all of the diseased trees, they usually wind up cutting down all of the good ones! This is about the way this one will turn out, they w ill attack vigorously all of the absolute essentials to keep our nation in operation and walk right over the real culprits who are wasting the taxpayers money like it was going out of style. A few to mention are the bureaucracies, where the bureaucrats lie awake all night trying to figure out how to spend money for things which are absolutely ridiculous; government business' like the G.S.A.; crooked contractors con-tractors who work all kinds of gimmicks gim-micks to "fleece" the taxpayers while on government contracts; consulting companies who charge all kinds of unreasonable rates for their service. All these, and many more like them are sapping our economy! There is a good chance that on the wind-up most of these parasites will remain re-main untouched, and the absolute essential will be staggering in the wake of the Carter blitz. Sincerelv yours. j a.
