They are at home in Iowa City, Iowa. Ashton-Coleman iced at St. Mark's Cathedral Miss Marjorie Anne Ashton was married mar-ried December 19 to Dr. Dow Aubrey Coleman al St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral in Salt Lake City. The marriage mar-riage was performed by the Right Reverend Richard S Watson, retired Bishop of the Diocese of L'tah, who was assisted by the Very Reverend William F. Maxwell, Dean of the Cathedral.. ... , The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph L. Ashton of Vernal. Dr. Coleman is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Sherman S. Coleman of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Coleman wore her mother's wedding gown made from pure silk Japanese parachutes, brought from Japan by her father at the close of World War II. The dress had insets of Alenson lace in the bodice, as did the long train. Her veil was attached to a headpiece made of the same lace. She carried a bouquet of gardenias, roses, stephanotis and baby's breath. Miss Virginia Ashton, in amythest chiffon, served as her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were: Mary Grace Ashton, Vernal; Jenny Coleman, Salt Lake City; Margaret Humphrey, San Diego; Missy Mann, Los Angeles; Connie Con-nie McArthur, Salt Lake City; and Debbie Deb-bie Moyer, Pauma Valley, Calif. They were all wearing cranberry chiffon and carrying bouquets of roses and carnations carna-tions in blending shades of amythest and cranberry, accented with baby's breath. Kurt Ashton, cousin of the bride, sang, "The Wedding Song'' and "The Lord's Prayer", during the ceremony. The bride's brothers. Michael and Larry Ashton read the lessons from the Old and New Testament. Lisa Coleman was flowergirl. Mike Coleman and Dan Walker assisted in handing out leaflets. Dr. CoU-man's best man was his brother, ' Lr: : Michael Coleman. The ushers were Larry Ashton. Vernal; Michael Ashton. San Francisco. Rae Ashton, Salt Lake City: Dr. Eric Johnson, Los Angeles; Bill Madsen. Salt Lake City; and Dr. George Veasy, Rochester Minnesota. Following the ceremony, a buffet dinner was served to the guests at the Salt Lake Country Club. Dancing was enjoyed after the dinner. The club was decorated with pink, amythest and cranberry flower arrangements of roses, carnations, baby's breath ajid chrysanthymums interspersed with silk flowers and fruits. The bride's table was set with silver candelabras intertwined intert-wined with flower garlands. Many guests attended from Vernal, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dupin, with daughters Pamela and Paula and Mrs. Donna Dupin from Price. Other out of state guests included the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Clarence Walker, Brawley, California and relatives and guests from Iowa City, Iowa; Rangely, Colorado; Birmingham, Birm-ingham, Alabama; Denver, Colorado; Boise, Idaho and Brawley, Westmorland and San Diego, Califor nia. Mrs. Coleman attended the University Universi-ty of Utah, where she affiliated with Pi Beta Phi. She will study for her degree at the University of Iowa. The bridegroom is a graduate of the University of Utah and the University of Utah College of Medicine. He is currently cur-rently completing his orthopedic residency at the University of Iowa ' hospitals and clinics, Iowa City. After a short wedding trip to Del Mar, CA., the couple will live in Iowa City, ' Iowa. |
