Show Jensen I Vera Snow I ' Phone 789 0628 I V J 50th anniversary observed by the Hy Slaughs Besides relatives who reside in Jensen namely the Wade Slaughs and the Kelly Powells, many friends from Jensen attended the 50th Wedding anniversary open house honoring Hy and Bertha Slaugh at the Davis Ward Cultural Hall Nov. 2. The program was outstanding, those in attendance reported. Mr. and Mrs. John Morton and three small children from Boloxi, Miss., and Mrs. Larry Werner and baby of Mesa, Arizona, have been visiting at the Kelly Powells. Mrs. Morton (Diane) and Mrs. Werner (Carma) are daughters of Kelly and Nita. While here, they attended at-tended the celebration held in honor of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hy Slaugh and took part in the program. Janet, Sharalyn and Suzanne Slaugh sang as a trio at the Slaugh golden anniversary. Suzanne Slaugh and Barbara Lewis also tap danced. Mrs. Ralph (Betty) Sharp is presently a patient at the Uintah Co. Hospital. Mrs. Earl Gurr (Buelah) who occasionally helps Mrs. Sharp at the Bonanza store and kitchen, is working full time while Betty is in the hospital. Saturday, Nov. 3, many relatives and friends from the Jensen area greeted Paul and Ada Murray at the Golden Age Center on the occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Sam and Louise Haslem, of Hayden, Colorado visited Sam's mother and father, Joe and Ruth Haslem, Saturday. Satur-day. Ruth is still a patient of Uintah Co. Hospital. Visitors at the home of the Devier Dudley's were Rosemary's brother and family, the Ken Christensens; also Deveir's mother, Iola D. Lisonbe, of Bluebell; and the John Bowlers. Mrs. Bow ler is Devier's sister, Nila. They all attended church and witnessed the conformation of Devier's son, Troy, and the blessing of Carey Jean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Snow. Larry Moon, returned missionary son of the Deon Moon's, has been a patient of the Uintah Co. Hospital since Nov. 2, when he underwent surgery. He was released Nov. 5 and returned home to recuperate. Turner is in Co. 940 R.T.C.-NTC, R.T.C.-NTC, San Diego, CA. 92133. The annual Thanksgiving Ward Budget supper will be held Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. at the church Cultural Hall. Turkey, dressing, and all the other goodies will be served. Eight different telephone lines in our area have been out of order from two to four days during the past week. Those attending the "hearing" before the Service Consumer Board Oct. 31 in Salt Lake City stated upon their return, that the Board decided there is definitely a case worthy of consideration con-sideration for improved telephone service. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Tolley and sons have moved into their new log home. . Mr. and Mrs. Robert Raines and family who have been living at Bonanza, have purchased and moved ' into the home formerly owned by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Tolley. The Daughters of Utah Pioneers will meet Thursday, November 15 the Thebbie Moon residence. |
