Show UHS 'Can the Trash Week' The Uintah High School executive council has declared Nov. 5-9 as "Can the Trash Week" in an effort ef-fort to clean up the halls of the school. The clean-up effort was announced in the homeroom representative represen-tative meeting Nov. 1, and activities aiding in the trash clean-up are planned for each day of that week. Included in the activities ac-tivities are a locker cleanup, clean-up, a garbage can decoration decora-tion day and a garbage treasure hunt. Tuesday, Nov. 6, in conjunction with the clean-up week, was declared Custodian Recognition Day. Mr. Hadlock, head custodian at Uintah, said, "The four major problems pro-blems at Uintah are the bathrooms, spit from tobacco chewers, trash in the classrooms and pop spills. He feels that if the students are aware of these problems they will try to do something about them. John Merklcy, student-body student-body vice president, said, "This should really help clean up Uintah and the townspeople should take an interest and get involved involv-ed in a community cleanup clean-up effort. |
