Show "Pink Ladies" render service to community Ron Perry, hospital administrator and guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the "Pink Ladies," talked to the group of auxiliary personnel about their new duties after the construction of the hospital is completed. The "Pink Ladies," commonly called because of their attire, are an auxiliary volunteer group to the hospital who perform per-form special services to patients. The auxiliary has 24 active members that volunteer every day of the week with shifts 9-1, 1-5, and 5-9. The group has five "non-floor" members also. Since the first of the year, the ladies have volunteered over 3,500 service hours. Perry took the volunteers through the new hospital where they could become familiar with the facilities. After the meeting they voted to furnish and decorate the waiting room of the new hospital and donate $5,000 toward the project. They also voted to purchase three Electo Therm Mark V Thermometers at $275 each. One will be used in the emergency room, one in the medical surgery area and the other one will be used on the maternity side. The "Pink Ladies" will again host an annual Christmas Openhouse in the hospital conference room Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the doctors, nurses, - aides and other hospital personnel. There are still several shifts available and anyone wishing to join ' the volunteer auxiliary, please contact one of the following ladies: Barbara Rada 789-4246 or Shanna Taylor 789-3368. |
