Roosevelt His topic is titled Farm Safety HART BAItT IS also a candidate for forState forState forState State Farmer from the Uintah Chapter He lie has passed all the requirements for the honor except the written test which consists of questions compiled by the State Director of Vocational Agriculture re If he passes this test which covers all phases of Vocational Agriculture he will receive his degree at the State convention convention con con- which will be held at the Terrace Ball Room in Salt Lake City on March 31 and April 1 1 Barts Bart's agricultural project consists of five head of activities of the local chapter parliamentary procedure Each Each y year ar arthe the sponsors a a parliamentary team an activity which encourages the proper use of parliamentary procedure as a leadership tool for the development of future leaders in agriculture This years year's ears team eam is composed of Scott Ruppe Cal Ruppe David Bart Batty Bally Joe Batty Michael J Ashby Edward Buller the State Convention on March tarch 31 livestock One of the activities that many members look forward to is the Uintah Basin Jr Livestock Show and Sale This activity not only gives members an incentive to raise animals it also helps to teach them the type of animals they should be raising to meet the market demands It also gives them an incentive to improve their animals by adopting some something worthwhile worthwhile worthwhile wor wor- to his home and community com com- The Farmers Home Administration sponsors a program called Bettering Our American Communities The program is carried out through the Future Farmer Chapters throughout the nation as an integral part of their program of work Through this program the local chapter has contributed time and labor to our local City and Count County by building picnic tables for use by our citizens in our Cit City and County parks TilE PHOC H 1 is relatively new but since its inception the members of the local FA chapter have built buill 36 tables placed in local parks This year the members were considering what project they would spend their time and labor on One that held high priority was to help the community build a better dog pound During the period a project was under discussion the members were approached by bythe bythe bythe the local Lions Lion's Club president Lyle Lle Anderson who asked if they would consider building another dozen or so tables for forthe forthe forthe the new Remember the Maine laine park in Dry Fork Canyon Mr Anderson said the Lions would safety This year ear the members have conducted several ac at to emphasize safety They have conducted a safety survey around their homes involving their parents each member has been assigned a paper to be written on a safety subject
