Show t 7 r J t a aap J I I II ap q f 1 1 li s 11 1 i i Iti I k s 1 d t 1 w Ii i I CONGRATULATIONS go to John left and Richard I Millett new owners of the Furniture House in Maeser Extending Extern Exten ding the welcome hand is Wallace Anderson former owner a Local furniture store under new ownership I Twenty-six Twenty years of oC furniture e store t ownership came to an end recently when Wallace Anderson of oC the former Cormer A AI I L Furnishings sold the business to John and Richard Millett Along with the new owners the stori store stor i also has a new name The Furniture House t I About the transaction Wallace quipped I have mixed emotions about the sale although after putting in 26 years from eight to sixteen hours a day it will be good to work in my yard do f some gardening and get in some somei j i fishing He will be working as a ai i 1 general salesperson in the store two or three days a week also I Wallace added I wont won't be idle with 22 grandchildren who like a little attention attention attention at at- and serving as chairman of oC the Uintah County Zoning Board being a member of oC the Maeser Water District and as an active member of oC the Maeser 3rd Ward cho choir r and in the Sunday School there is still plenty to do Wallace began his career in the furniture business with Lee Adamson for whom he worked five years He lie went into business August 1 1956 with Joe LeBeau and then bought him out but in 1964 According to Wallace he has been in the furniture business longer than any man in the basin John is no new-comer new to the furniture business or to the A L L. L He worked seven years time part-time with Wallace while teaching school and for the last five years has been with the business full John a math major taught six years at Vernal Junior High School and 4 2 years at Uintah High School According to John he has always been interested in decorating and has worked in the capacity in the store At Atthe Atthe Atthe the present time he and his wife wiCe the former Cormer June Jenkins along with their two sons are remodeling their home In addition to owner co-owner of the Furniture House John is active in the church and at the present time is teaching a Sunday School class Richard is a graduate of oC Brigham Young University in business management and also worked at A L part time while attending Uintah High School His furniture business experience experience experience ex ex- ex- ex also includes being a Tooke's Carpet and Furniture salesman in Provo His wife wiCe the former Cormer Georgia Renee Willard of Edwards California is a graduate o of BYU in interior designing and will work as a design consultant at the store They are the parents of one son Dustin Richard is interested in work and wood refinishing He lie and his wife wiCe are both active in sports The new owners are working on expansion and have the cement poured for Cor a new 2450 sq foot addition to the store which will be used for Cor storage and additional show rooms At the present time John explained we will be carrying the same lines we now have including Lee Lees Lee's Carpets appliances Chrome Chrom Craft dinettes Keller Dining room furniture Owasso Bassett and Vaughn Bassett bedroom furniture along with Seeley mattresses We also carry the Intermountain Intermountain Intermountain In- In upholstery line along with the largest selection of custom made draperies in the basin We hope to enlarge our inventory in the near future he added The Furniture House has been located at its it's present site North 2500 West for the past three years According to John and Richard the grand opening will be held when the remodeling is complete with I a date in July |
