| Show In 0 o 1 44 1 1 r v t f J 1 1977 National Newspaper Week Oct 9 15 beginning with the Jennings case ase These citizens were not satisfied with the answers given them from the District This may have been due to the inability of the District Office to satisfy their demands legally Employers by law are not permitted to open personnel files On the other hand this controversy escalated partly because the School Board failed to realize the magnitude of the situation We know it is sometimes difficult to deal with emotional charges but it is simply part of the job Units of government have to be accountable accountable accountable ac ac- countable to their constituency We look upon the concern and interest of any and all our citizens as being necessary in our form of government We encourage all parents to be aware of events and issues going on in the community especially those affecting the schools Parent Advisory y Groups PTA etc 2 2 We recommend more specific business and accounting procedures We feel the charges have now been answered and we hope the controversy on all ull these issues will subside We see no reason for a personal attack against anyon and hope people will turn to being more concerned for the quality of their childrens children's education Certainly derogatory phone calls to and against any citizen are only destructive In conclusion we as a committee feel that we as citizens of this his area are at the crossroads We must choose whether to take the road of better education or the path of civic turmoil Depending upon our future actions we can either build up or tear down Which shall it be Dr Hugh H H.
