Show SURGICAL OPERATION. On Wednesday last, Doctor Groesbeck assisted by H.K. Cranney, Esq., performed a surgical operation of great importance, the patient being a young man named James Moore. The youth is about 18 years of age, and resides at Soda Springs. About four years ago he injured his left arm while lifting on a wagon wheel, and a few months afterward, his arm having given him considerable pain, he applied to a surgeon for treatment. The arm was ???? in several places but without the result of any permanent benefit. From that time he has been under the care of physicians in other parts of the Territory. The operation performed by Doctor Groesbeck was to remove about three inches of diseased bone from the wrist joint upward. Several ulcers were found in the bone, but it is supposed that all the diseased portion was removed. |
