Show CLIFTON ITEMS. Editor Leader: -- The grim monster death has invaded the homes of the Saints in this ward the past winter, and through his ceaseless demands sixteen children have been taken from this life by the ravages of diphtheria. On one occasion two were buried at the same time, there being but fifteen minutes difference in the time of their deaths. A large number of horned stocked have perished through cold and lack of feed, one person having lost 50 head from this cause. Our supply of feed is entirely exhausted and it will be hard for cattle that are alive to survive until summer. Your paper is always welcome and read with interest. If the contractor who carries the mail from Logan to this place would try and arrive on time, he would receive the thanks of Clifton. Clifton, Idaho, March 5, 1880. |
