Show j LOCAL NOTES : Ann Christie, 15-year-old trap shooter ace from Lark, won the director's trophy at the Salt Lake Gun club Sunday afternoon, but only after one of the top shootoft series of the season. In the first round, 12 shooters including in-cluding Miss Christie, tied with 25 straight hits. After three extra ex-tra shoots, Velda Barret, Ben Olson and Miss Christie were still deadlocked. In the fourth shootoff, the Lark miss hit 25, B. Olson took runnerup honors and Velda Barrett took third with 19. Ann is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Christie of Butterfield canyon, Lark. Murphy, son of Mrs. Beth Murphy of Bingham, has completed an eight-week cycle cy-cle with the Automotive Maintenance Main-tenance Course, Specialist Training Train-ing Regiment of the famed 8th Infantry Division, Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Prior to his induction in-duction at Salt Lake City on Sept. 11, 1950, Cpl. Murphy was employed by Kennecott Copper at Bingham. This course covers general maintenance and operation opera-tion repairs to many types of army vehicles and trains enlisted enlist-ed personnel to be competent general automotive mechanics. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Fenton were Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Miller and Melvin, Margaret Mar-garet and Margene and Mrs. Richard Forsey and children, I Linda and Mark, all of Eureka. Mrs. George Bolman was hostess hos-tess to members of the GGGG club at the home of Mrs. W. S. Jones on Friday, February 9th. A nicely appointed one o'clock luncheon was served, followed by bridge. Prizes at bridge were won by Mrs. J. D. Shilling, first; Mrs. W. J. Myers, second and Mrs. Joe Kemp, bingo. Other guests were Mrs. Eugene Morris, Mor-ris, Mrs. L. A. Walker, Mrs. L. S. Breckon, Mrs. Louis Buchman, Mrs. Eugene Chandler, Mrs. Paul S. Richards, Mrs. Frank Madsen, Mrs. M. A. Cotter, Mrs. Roy Shilling, Mrs. O. S. Jensen and Mrs. Jones. Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Jacques spent last week end in Ogden where they were attending the wedding of their niece, Miss Dixie Jacques. They also visited in Brigham City. Mrs. Earl T. Jacques, first; Mrs Tom Carrigan, second; Mrs. Dale Johnston, consolation, and Mrs. Joe Brisk, house. Dainty refreshments refresh-ments were served to eight. Lady Eagles met as guests of Mrs. J. J. Doyle on Thursday night of last week. Bridge was played with prizes going to Mrs. Peter Smith, Mrs. Lester Harris and Mrs. Alfred Goff. Lovely refreshments re-freshments were served. Mrs. Eugene Morris was hostess hos-tess to her dinner and bridge club on Wednesday evening, February 7th. Appointments followed fol-lowed a Valentine motif and the table centerpiece consisted of an artistic arrangement of tulips and , pussy willows and lemon leaves .flanked by red tapers. Bridge prizes were awarded to Mrs. E. V. Knudsen, first; Mrs. O. S. Jensen, second and Miss Mabel Neprud, bingo. Others present were Miss Laura Marshall, Mrs. Robert Bailey, Mrs. M. A. Cotter, Cot-ter, Mrs. Harold W. Nielsen, Mrs. R. J. Smith and Mrs. Dee Christ-ensen. Christ-ensen. Linger Longer club met Tuesday Tues-day evening at the home of Mrs. Verio Kendrick as guests of Mrs. Ross M. Cushing. Mrs. Kendrick was a guest.
