Show i Un 'quo San Juan River Trip Offered by San Juan Expeditions Early summer (until the end of June) is the best time to see the bt.-aut.ful Sat. Juan River Canyon with Verle Green cf San Juan Expositions. The trip follows the San Juan River from Blul'i to Mexican Hit, a distance of about 30 miles. On every river trip there is at least one rapid which provides the cl max of the entire day. On the i San Juan Itiver, that rapid is Eight Foot, where the river? . drops eight feet in elevation in the space of only a few yards. On the day long Colorado River trip, the rapid is George White Rapid, where the river drops sharply over a huge rock in the m'ddle of the .stream. Travel by San Juan Expeditions is by a 22 foot long pontoon boat which is equipped wi.h a 10 horsepower motor and has ' oars on board for use on calm stretches of water or in case of emergency. One day tr'ps on both the San Juan and Colorado Rivers, are $20 per person with a minimum of 4 fares. With five oi more people the rates drop to $17 per person and special rates are available for groups of 11 or more. Overnight trips on ho'h the Colorado and San Juan Rivers can be arranged and prices are available upon request. For tho.e of you who want more excitement than just riding, a small boat is available to allow you to take a hand at the oars and try your skill at shooting rapids. Special trips can be arranged to suit your travel schedule and reservations are required. Trips are run regularly on Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer.
