On June 2, 1972 the Ufah Simmental Association was organized as Salt Lake Citv, Utah. Simmental arc a breed of cattle which have their origins ori-gins in Switzerland. The breed is enjoying increased popularity in the I'nited Sta-tes Sta-tes producing extra heavy valves at weaning and a high percentage of lean-red mea: at slaughter. Good management manage-ment practices bring anim als to slaughter weight (t: 050 - 1,110 lbs.) at 12 to 11 months of age. The Utah Association is the twenty fourth formed in the United States under the direction of the American Simmenatal Association, Boz-cman, Boz-cman, Montana. The Utah Association elected ele-cted seven directors. They are: Dr. Max A. Blackmail, Pleasant Grove; John G. Barratt. Heber; John R. Carter, Car-ter, Moab; V. L. Kesler Jr., Salt Lake City; Rulon Os. inond, Hyde Park; Mel Pet. erson, Laketown; Gilbert T. Yardlcy, Beaver. The Board elected Mr. Kesjer, Presi. dent;. Mr. Peterson Vice-President; Vice-President; and Devere Wat. kins Secretary - Treasurer. The new association expects ex-pects to hold its annual meeting in December of each year. |
