Show Jeep Safari weekend always al-ways brings in the first big influx of visitors to the community of the season, and the community always (tries to put on its best suit of clothes for the occasion. occa-sion. Intentions of the com- I munity have not changed this year, and elaborate plans have been made to make the visitors as welcome wel-come as possible during their "Easter weekend stay in Canyon Country. We are sure that because of the efforts of residents, visitors visi-tors will have an enjoyable enjoya-ble weekend. But as for physical appearances, ap-pearances, our visitors will have to bear with us. Our streets are torn up because be-cause of curb and gutter work aimed at making the appearance of the town better. Our spring cleanup drive is not vet fullv un derway, '-due to a number of factors, but principally weather. And in other respects, visitors will see from scanning the pages of this newspaper, Moab is not immune to problems prob-lems that exist elsewhere. Nonetheless, we join in issuing a hearty welcome to Safari visitors. bJ i One of the factors that makes the annual Jeep Safari as easy to conduct as it is (not meaning to imply that it's a snap), is the cooperation offered by public agencies such as National Park Service and Bureau of Land Management, Manage-ment, in preparing trails and leading groups on the actual Safari. Our thanks and congratulations, and special word of commendation commen-dation is issued to those people for their help. SJT We hope lovers of fine music in the Moab area will take advantage of the opportunity to see and hear the world-renowned Utah Symphony Orchestra next week when they are in Southeastern Utah. The concert is scheduled for next Wednesday night in the high school auditorium in Monticello, and Moab people have received a special invitation. Price is only $2.50. : 1 V'-.v-,"" I , - - .7 y- ' - . : ' .,s , -, ' -I ... - . 1 r- H. i i 'i ' Mr. Blair Walkington |
