Show Armchair Sculpturins by Mil Pimpell Armchair Sculpture Takes Advanfaqe of Area Rocks When Mil Pimpell came to Moab lli ears aso as manager of the Moab Chamber of Commerce, he made the comment. "If one could profiteer on the red rocks in this count rv . he would have it made." Mil has not as vet profiteered from the rocks but he has least put them to work in his new art creation. The fisu fines are made of native cla.v backed to h a r d n e s s and then mounted on the flat rocks to nans as wall plasties. Kach fisure is different and therefore gives an original piece of art work. Heretofore, his art work has been mostlv confined to sculpturing Aspen wood. He developed develop-ed a method to keep Aspen As-pen wood from splitting after drving and thus making it appropriate for carving. Mill has called his new work. "Armchair Sculpturing." Sculp-turing." The name is fit -ting since his retirement in early I 'J 7 2 . The new work in cla.v and rocks will be on display at the College of F.astern I'tah in Price on April 3rd through 7th. Art display s at the College Col-lege are in connection with the visit of Art rain sponsored by the I'tah Federation of Art. |
