Show Talent Show Appreciated By Crowds Members of the Moab Lions Club held their annual Talent Show Friday Fri-day and Saturday evenings even-ings at Star Hall. A large variety of talent was presented during the two shows and judges reported that selection of w inners was very difficult. dif-ficult. First place went to Cindy Wiseman for her piano solo "Grand Valse Brilliante" by Fredrick Chopin. Second place honors ho-nors went to the Grand County String Philharmonic Philhar-monic Band composed of Don Davis on the banjo; Mary Dale, guit- ar: Lavarre Hibl. fiddle; ! Herb Cooper, washtub; Jan Pratt, rub board and bell: and Rodney Quinn , on the jug. The group played "Dead Skunk" and "In Heaven There is No ; Beer." Third place went 1 to Jay Cooper for his vocal solo. "Impossible ; Dream." He was accom- panied by Cala Wyatt. Awarded an honorable ; mention was Sue Daniel-son. Daniel-son. an exchnage student ', from South Africa. Master of ceremonies ', for the shows was Slim ; Mabery of the Moab Lions Club and special added portions of the 1 show were presented by ', the Woman's Literary ; Club (style show); and Lowell Davis, a Chinese reading, f D o n a t io n s received t during the show were slated to go towards the Heart Monitor Fund and I the Sight Conservation !.
