Show Work Pushing Ahead on Remodeling Of Little League Field in Moab Work is going ahead this week on remodeling of the little league field on East Center Street. According to Glen Rich-eson. Rich-eson. head of the summer sum-mer recreation program, pro-gram, the plans call for construction of four fields in the block-square block-square area as well as a new office and rest-room rest-room facility. Mr. Richeson said that all the fields will have complete lighting equipment equip-ment and installation of lighting will be let for bids as soon as design de-sign plans from major companies such as General Gen-eral Electric and Wes- tinghouse are received. It is expected that the work will be completed by June 1. Bids for construction of the restroom and office of-fice building a-e to be opened this Friday and work is to begin immediately im-mediately after the award is made, Mr. Richeson said. Funds for the remodeling project have been set aside from Countv Revenue Sharing monies of up to S40,000. The plans call for one large field to be used for men's Softball and Pony League games. A second field will be set up to be used by women's softball m teams, the third will be used exclusively for Tee league and Little League and the fourth may be used by eaither softball or little league baseball players. It is hoped that three little league football foot-ball fields can be set up in the outfields of the larger softball areas. Future plans call for construction of new bleachers around all four of the fields and new sidewalks surrounding the entire block are now under construction. Wrork on the sidewalks should be completed in the very near future. Sidewalks being poured at the Little League field on East Center street are only the first signs of a complete remodeling project at the field which is expected to completely remodel the playing area. |
